In a startling account on http://worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=69693, the city of San Francisco has won a first round of court rulings regarding the status of the Catholic Church as a "hate organization" and the Vatican as a "foreign government" interfering with the politics of the California city. In the states of Colorado and Michigan, as noted in the World Net Daily article, the Bible may be declared a book of hatred because of the statements from God regarding homosexuality. Not only do Catholics need to be involved in legal battles, through good lawyers, but also Catholics should not abandon the political field, or the media battles.
People with whom I talk do not realize that Catholics in the United States and Canada are rapidly being targeted by such court rulings as seen recently in Ottawa and Alberta. If Catholics and other Christians cannot quote the Bible, the fight is not merely with certain groups who desire unlimited sexual freedom, but with those who hate religion, especially the Catholic Church. Such movements, as seen in Canada where bloggers and others may be sued for referring to sin and sexual perversion, using either the Bible or Church teaching as authorities, are not merely directed to a certain type of so-called criticism, but to a hatred of the Catholic Church, as seen in the city of San Francisco's resolution.
Pay attention and pray.
